What Is SIP Trunking (& How it Works)

– Hey, this is Tom from Nextiva. In this video, we’ll betaking a look at SIP trunking, and how to alter your landline PBX to a gloom located telephone system. SIP is actually an acronym forSession Initiation Protocol, and trunking is in reference to how all of your phone lines come together to create a backbone of connectivity. SIP trunking can seem likea tricky idea on paper, but it’s actually reallysimple to understand. The main character of SIP trunking is to provide cloud-based phone services for an existing PBX in its term of office. If you already have a server or PBX, you can use SIP trunking to provide outbound and inbound calling, plus other cord-cuttingfeatures via the mas. The basic notion of SIP trunking is to bring the lower costs andscalability of the mas to your existing landline system. SIP enables a businesswith a legacy phone system to now have access to thefeatures only available on cloud-based phone systems, such as soft phone apps, and boosted analytics. When you move your phoneservice to the cloud, you’re benefiting fromflexible call capacity, lower communications cost by 60% or more, and conceding the ability tohave the service provider take care of all the network maintenance, so you can focus on your business. SIP causes you replace outdated equipment, and costly analog phonelines feeding your PBX. You provision the internet relationship and your industries’ PBX, and SIP trunking manipulates the residual. In short, SIP trunking isyour secret weapon to upgrade your traditional businessphone service to the cloud. It’s used for call setup, management, and tear down. It’s flexible, reliable, and lightweight. This means you can get the best of a cloud-based phone servicefor the fraction of the expenses of a legacy phone system. And there’s no major changesto your infrastructure. Want to discover how SIP trunking can transform your business’ phone system? Check us out atnextiva.com/ swallow to is starting.
